I started this journal as a means to put down on paper my thoughts and feelings on a variety of subjects, whether it is my personal life or life going on around me. A little about me first. I am happily married for over 10 years now (my second marriage) and I have two grown children and 2 precious grandchildren! I am so blessed to not only have my children but also my grandchildren. I also have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Thank God all four are very well housebroken! :)
I have been a registered nurse since 1985, working almost exclusively as a labor and delivery nurse. I was a childbirth instructor for well over 10 years, too. I loved both of those professions immensely! I said "loved" because I haven't taught in years plus I have developed an allergy in natural rubber latex. It put a quick end to my career--but at least I can breathe now and do things I haven't been able to do since 1986 or so! I feel so much better and so much more alive now! I truly do miss my profession. There is nothing like the high that you get when helping to bring a new life into this world!
Since my "retirement" from nursing in 2001, I have kept myself busy working on genealogy--both mine and my husband's family, cross stitching and crocheting, web site design and doing some minor remodeling here at home..plus working out in order to forestall the "family curse" of diabetes!
Anyway, that is a little bit about me....Ho hum. ;)Oh yeah...Jenoveva was my grandmother's nickname for me. I never asked why. I just got used to hearing it. I miss her a lot!
